Most people cook Thanksgiving dinner at home for their family and friends, but others choose to go to a restaurant to enjoy the holiday. In this article, we explore the top 10 reasons to book your Thanksgiving celebration at a local restaurant.
1. You Don’t Have To Cook
Even if you love to cook, making turkey, side dishes, and desserts for a large group can be a daunting task. Delegating guests to share in the cooking responsibilities rather than leaving all the meal preparation to the host can help alleviate the pressure and make things more manageable in the kitchen, but it adds to the planning aspect of the gathering. Going to a restaurant to celebrate Thanksgiving takes the pressure off the host and the guests alike.
2. You Don’t Have To Clean Up
The Thanksgiving host has to clean up twice – once in preparation to get their home clean and tidy before their guests arrive and then after dinner is over. Meeting at a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner will reduce your cleanup count to zero, and you will be less stressed and more able to enjoy the company of your loved ones.
3. Enjoy Quality Time Together
Reducing the amount of stress over the holiday season by hosting your Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant allows you to enjoy quality time together.
4. You Won’t Be Exhausted
Hosting your Thanksgiving at a local restaurant lets you relax on the special day so you can enjoy a leisurely day at home, watching the Macys’ Day parade and getting ready before you go out.
5. Save Money
Another perk of having your Thanksgiving meal at a restaurant is that it can save you money. You won’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on groceries and decorations, and you’ll even save money on gas because you won’t need to drive all over town searching every grocery store for a certain ingredient.
6. Start New Traditions
You may enjoy having Thanksgiving at a restaurant so much that you decide to start a new tradition of doing it every year. You could also invite your family and friends back to your home after the meal to do an activity together, like baking cookies, playing games, or watching a Thanksgiving movie.
7. You Won’t Be Limited To Turkey
Having Thanksgiving at a restaurant is a great idea for groups with guests who have dietary concerns because everyone can order what they like.
8. Set The Stage For Christmas
The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas goes by so quickly so having a relaxed dinner provided by a restaurant gives you a chance to dive into the Christmas season feeling refreshed enough to do some Black Friday shopping.
9. Enjoy Your Meal & Drinks
Hosting Thanksgiving can often mean that you have to rush your food and drinks because your main concern is taking care of your guests. But having Thanksgiving at a restaurant allows you to eat more slowly, sip and savor your drink, and enjoy the conversation.
10. Enjoy A Sense Of Community
Even if you do not have family or friends nearby to spend Thanksgiving with you can still enjoy a Thanksgiving meal in the company of others. Being out and in the presence of others can make you feel less alone, and you may find it preferable compared to eating by yourself at home. You may want to strike up a conversation with someone at a nearby table or try a new restaurant or cuisine.
